Crews are getting started on the Commerce Streetlight Project, which includes 38 new light poles — 37 along Commerce Drive and one on Lexington Avenue just west of Commerce. The project is part of the City’s Capital Improvement Program to enhance safety and visibility in this busy corridor.
Right now, crews are completing the ground work — installing conduit, junction boxes, and transformer pads that will power the new lights. Once that’s finished, Evergy will install and power up the poles and fixtures.
The project is expected to wrap up by the end of the year, weather permitting.
