The City of De Soto, in partnership with Johnson County Park & Recreation District (JCPRD), will host a public open house to share information and gather community feedback on a potential land exchange involving Sunflower Nature Park.
- Date: Wednesday, January 14th
- Time: 4:30pm–6:30pm (come-and-go)
- Location: De Soto City Hall, 32905 W. 84th St., De Soto, KS
The open house will provide details on a proposed land exchange currently being evaluated by both the City of De Soto and JCPRD. The proposal would replace the existing 58-acre Sunflower Nature Park with approximately 210 acres of parkland connected to the Greater Kill Creek Park property. The discussion is occurring alongside future area development considerations and the City’s long-range plans for an extension of Edgerton Road.
Residents are encouraged to attend, review the information, and share feedback.
