You may have noticed new signs popping up downtown for our Common Consumption Area (CCA), which officially started mid September!
A CCA allows you to enjoy alcoholic beverages outdoors within designated areas, but only from businesses that have applied and been approved (i.e. it's not BYOB). If you’ve visited the Lenexa Public Market, Downtown Shawnee, or Downtown Olathe, you’ve likely seen how it works. (Bonus: We’ve also added new trash & recycling bins throughout the CCA that we’ll keep cleaned and maintained!)
While our CCA is technically active, local businesses are still in the process of applying to participate. Once approved, you’ll be able to sip and stroll during CCA hours:
- Thursdays & Fridays: 5pm to 10pm
- Saturdays: 10am to 10pm
