On October 23rd, 2019, the 91st Street expansion to Sunflower Rd was officially opened. The USD 232 De Soto High School band performed a few songs, Mayor Rick Walker gave the history of the project, and he cut the ceremonial ribbon. Afterwards, Council President Lori Murdock road her bike on the new multi-purpose path while the Mayor, Council Members, and County Commissioner Mike Brown drove down the new street.
